Европейские наблюдатели подчеркнули, что досрочные парламентские выборы в Азербайджане не предложили избирателям политической альтернативы и прошли с чрезмерными ограничениями основных свобод и средств массовой информации.

Согласно информации азербайджанских СМИ, две крупнейшие оппозиционные партии Азербайджана - "Национальный совет демократических сил" и "Мусават" заявили, что не признают результаты внеочередных парламентских выборов в стране. .
"Национальный совет демократических сил" (НСДС) обратился к международному сообществу с призывом не признавать итоги состоявшихся 1 сентября внеочередных парламентских выборов в Азербайджане. "COP-29 или любое другое международное мероприятие не может быть основанием для назначения досрочных парламентских выборов, равно как и президент не может превышать свои полномочия и назначать выборы в любое время", - сказано в заявлении.
С другой стороны, в выборы проводились в отсутствие условий для честной политической конкуренции. Также не было предпринято никаких шагов по изменению избирательного законодательства, адаптированного к интересам правящего режима. Согласно заявлению партии, власти не позволили делегации ПАСЕ наблюдать за выборами и запретили въезд в Азербайджан 76 депутатам ассамблеи.

Эти нарушения были зафиксированы, в Интернете распространены видеоизображения указанных фактов. Предварительное итоги выборов были объявлены на основе продиктованных сверху данных.
Учитывая вышеотмеченное, "Мусават" заявляет, что внеочередные выборы в Милли Меджлис 1 сентября не были свободными и справедливыми.
